Quarantine and HR

Kelly asked me about quarantining Fievel, but for some reason I can't post a comment, so I'll just do a regular post.

Australia will release Fievel from quarantine 6 months after he's had a RNATT-- a Rabies Neutralizing Antibody Titre Test. Basically, the test shows that he has been vaccinated for rabies and has the antibodies in his blood. The good news is, he can spend up to 5 months hanging out at home in the U.S. Once we ship him to Australia, he'll go into quarantine, which is essentially a large, very expensive kennel. The idea is to keep him here for the maximum amount of time (5 months) so he does not have to spend too much time in quarantine. So the plan is to have Ethan come down with Fievel in September.

In other news, I'm a little frustrated with HR. I e-mailed the HR rep to try to get my plane ticket taken care of, and he responded that usually the traveler books the ticket and then gets reimbursed. Just as I was about to click "Book Now" on expedia, I got another e-mail from him saying that the Headquarters Office wants him to do it. So I didn't book, and then I didn't hear anything for 2 days. I e-mailed him to ask the status, and he asked for a bunch of information like special meal needs, my birth date, etc. So he had done nothing. That was last week. This week, I still haven't heard from him. If I had booked it, I would have plane tickets by now!

I am hoping this is not an indication of how the entire two years is going to go.
