More About Me

Who am I?

I am a meteorologist who has lived in several very different locations.  I was born in Washington D.C., and later moved to Columbus, Ohio to attend undergrad at The Ohio State University.  I then joined the Air Force and moved to Anchorage, Alaska.  I left the Air Force after 4 years and joined the National Weather Service, ultimately residing in Alaska for almost 10 years.  For the past two years I lived in Sydney, Australia, but now I've returned to Anchorage.  I live with my husband Ethan and small dog, Fievel.

Why I Blog

This blog was originally started to keep my friends and family up to date on all my adventures. As such, my blog doesn’t have a particular theme or emphasis.  It’s mostly meant as a way to stay in touch with people I care about, although I welcome other visitors.

N.B.:  I do moderate the comments on this blog.  Anything I deem rude or inappropriate will be deleted.  I also am not interested in comments that are posted solely for advertisement, be it other blogs or products.

Why might you want to read my blog?

If you are interested in outdoor activities, learning what it’s like to live in a remote and sometimes harsh location, practicing sustainable living, baking, gardening, books or music, you might find this blog interesting.  Or if you know me personally and want to find out what I’m up to, this is the blog for you.
