How walkable is your neighborhood?

My friend Holly posted a link to this website: http://www.walkscore.com. I was disappointed but not entirely surprised to find out that my neighborhood scored a whopping 37 out of 100. Although realistically, I think that my neighborhood is one of the more walkable in Anchorage, and it is definitely pretty doable on the bike.

I also found out that there is an Italian restaurant within walking distance that sounds pretty interesting. The 3 reviews I read on some random website made it sound pretty good (in other words, I got all my information from the internet, which never lies). But Ethan and I like to try new things, so I think I'm going to try to convince him to go there soon.

Post-dinner edit: We tried the Italian restaurant. It was okay. A little high priced for the quality, IMO. Oh well.

I read that first paragraph of your post and thought "huh, 37 sounds pretty good for Alaska!" ... and promptly realized that I apparently think of your state much the same way that people often (uncorrectly) think of mine. I'm rolling my eyes at myself. :)

Kelly, thanks for the shout out! I hope some other people come find my blog--and find it cool.

craftosaurus, I think you and I are often stuck in the same miserable stereotyped worlds (statewise, that is).
