Excerpts from my first letter from E:

Hi there babe. I appear to have made it safely, which is a good thing. It is HOT here. Still well in the 100's during the day, 75 at night. Should be getting colder any day now, they tell me.

Things are looking up. I might find myself on some sort of regular schedule SOON. At the moment my whole company is living in one big tent, but it sounds like I may get my own room in the next few weeks. After that, all I need to do is secure the Internet and I will be good to go.

Looks like I will be able to use DSN to call you once a week or so. That will be cool, and I can use my calling card at a pretty cheap rate. That's a good thing, eh.

So things sound pretty good so far. And he's there, and safe, which is really important. I'm really happy about this. And as he said....361 days and counting.
