One of my goals for this year was to expand my summer wardrobe, preferably by shopping at the thrift store. Over the past few weeks it’s become apparent that I needed to do so quickly; my summer wardrobe consisted mostly of dark colored t-shirts, which were not particularly pleasant as it began to heat up. After last summer’s less than successful thrift store trips, I started out at Target, where I found a few items that were successful.

White shirt: $32. Jeans: purchase previously |

Purple shirt: $29. Khaki shorts: $27 |
|
Yellow shirt: $12 Green shorts: $24 |
On my way home, I decided to stop by Vinnie’s, a thrift store run by the Catholic St. Vincent de Paul society. Here I found a few more items, some of which I really liked.

White halter: $4. Shorts from Target. |

Orange shirt: $6. Shorts from Target. |
|
Purple dress: $9. |

Red and white dress:$8. This was my favorite! |
I spent a total of $124 at Target, and $27 at Vinnie’s. My average cost per item was $24.80 at Target, while it was only $6.75 at Vinnie’s, where I found my favorite items of the day. I say it’s Vinnie’s for the win!

You look great! And I love all your new outfits, particularly the red and white dress and the white tank top you found at Vinny's.
What a fun post!!!! Loved all the clothes and you look great - even though I love to see pics of Australia - I missed seeing you!
A fashion show! How about it?!
Nice purchases! I suck at thrifting, but I like to try!
Thanks everyone! Lisa, you are such a sweetie. It's hard to be in the pictures when you're always the one holding the camera, though.
Lynn, normally I suck at thrifting too. That's why I started at Target. But I guess Friday was my lucky day.
Uncle Carl, sorry for the fashion interlude. I'll try to work up some more beer posts soon (my would-be guest poster seems unusually reluctant).
huh, I'm pretty sure I used to hit a thrift store run by St Vincent de Paul. interesting.
I hadn't heard of it in the states, but that doesn't mean that they weren't there. We didn't have one in Anchorage, but I wasn't familiar with charity shops in other areas of the country.
Way to go!! You must be channeling some of Lesliele's mojo!! I love it all!
